Glos. Family-run shop specialising in Liberty fabrics
Became Self-employed February 1981, building up local client base
November 1982-May 1983 Sessional Technical Skills Tutor, Fashion Department, Gloucestershire College of Art and Design
October 1984-April 1987 worked as Freelance Designer/Pattern Cutter/Sample Machinist for "Chanticleer" shop and small
manufacturer, Imperial Square, Cheltenham.
August 1987 moved to Hardwick, Cambridgeshire, building up a new client base
August 1993 moved to Hook, Hampshire, building up local client base
1995/1996 City and Guilds Further and Adult Education teaching Certificate, Basingstoke College
1999-2002 Higher National Certificate in Garden Design, Sparsholt College, Hampshire
2005 and 2006 invited by Skillfast, then the UK fashion industry's Skills Council, to be a judge for the industry's
"Can-U-Cut-It?" competitions for young students.
May 2006 awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education from the University of Portsmouth.
Autumn 2006 undertook a course at the prestigious College of Fashion at London's Central Saint Martins, and awarded a Post
Graduate Certificate in Innovative Pattern Cutting- the only course of its kind in the country.
2007-2008 worked for the University College for the Creative Arts at Epsom, as a Sessional Tutor, supporting design and
technical skills at Degree level.
I continue to enjoy individual client-based work.
