Ann Carling graduated with a Degree in Fashion and Textiles in the late 1970s. After college she spent some time in the commercial fashion industry,
before starting in the early 1980s to create special occasion wear for personal clients in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. This has grown over the years into an extensive network of clients throughout Southern
England. Ann's client-list has developed almost purely through personal recommendation alone.
In 2004-5 Ann was invited by Skillfast, then the UK fashion industry's Skills Council, to sit on the judging-panel for the industry's "Can-U-Cut-It?"
competitions for young students.
In Spring 2006 Ann was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education from the University of Portsmouth.
In Autumn 2006 Ann undertook a course at the prestigious School of Fashion at London's Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, where she was awarded
a Post Graduate Certificate in Innovative Pattern Cutting - the only course of its kind in the country.
During 2007-2008 Ann worked for the University College for the Creative Arts at Epsom as a Sessional Tutor, teaching Pattern Cutting at Degree level.
Ann continues to enjoy her individual client-based work.
Ann is based in North-East Hampshire. She is married, with two children.
